Be Rejuvenated

The Mission of Thrive Retreat Center is to provide a space for our guests to rejuvenate; to learn tools for integrating the principles of holistic health and vitality into their daily lives; and to provide an opportunity for growth and personal transformation.

At the base of the Cascades, we’ve planted a mighty flag in the ground; a plot of land designed only for the revitalization of your energy and being.  We expanded our operations by opening the Thrive Retreat Center in Spring 2011.

Located on 43 scenic acres at the former home of Cedar Springs Renewal Center, Thrive Retreat Center is a raw foods healing and renewal destination – an active community hub for individuals and organizations who are supporting, providing, and/or desiring wellness and healing in their communities and in their own lives.

We serve our guests are three raw, vegetarian, organic meals a day, and offer daily classes ranging from morning meditation and yoga, to raw food hands-on cooking demos.  Many services, including massage therapy, colon hydrotherapy, reflexology, and individual medical consultations by a licensed medical advisor is are available.

Some guests visit for a weekend long B&B escape, and some come to heal for several weeks or a month at a time.  In the end, everyone comes for their own reasons and needs and that’s how we like it.  All are welcome!  We believe that all people can achieve health, happiness, and vitality – and it starts with proper nutrition, rest, alone time, and the nourishment that can come in community with people.

The kitchen at Thrive Retreat Center is completely gluten and dairy-free and only raw foods are served.   The center can also be rented for weddings, speaking engagements, corporate retreats, and more. When the entire facility is rented – cooked vegetarian food is permitted, though we require that the kitchen remain gluten-free.

Even though only raw, organic meals are served, we welcome all people, who have been eating any kind of diet.  It doesn’t matter whether you are raw for the weekend or it’s already part of your daily routine. Just come as you are and be ready to shine when you leave!  Please have fun exploring the site and we look forward to meeting you soon!

Our 32-hour Hands-On Raw Food Immersion Program is designed to propel you into a mighty state of raw culinary confidence, we offer a guided, hands-on experience in the art of live food preparation in our live-food kitchen at Thrive’s Retreat Center.

The cost for each day’s stay includes lodging and breakfast, the most important meal of the day.  Breakfast will be served in the lodge with Program Participants, or can be served in the guests’ room if that is desired.  People who come for B-&-B will be delighted at their experience and will be permitted to participate in Course Offerings and meals for an additional fee.  B-&-B visitors are also permitted to bring their own vegetarian food for lunch and dinner meals and keep them in one of our refrigerators.

Services

Thrive Retreat Center currently offers the following services:

Massage Therapy

Massages are available from a skilled therapist for an extra charge. Every week during the cleanse programs there is a massage therapist available.

There are many opportunities for rest and relaxation at Thrive Retreat Center, and receiving a massage is by far one of the most nourishing, peace-filled and enjoyable experiences you will have here.

Everyone who comes here benefits from learning how to relax and be in the moment again. As children we are at home with our bodies and in touch with our basic natures. Being nurtured and cared for by touch is like being a child again. Touch stills the mind and gives us a sense of our own wholeness. It opens us up to being delighted by the senses.

Massage gives reassurance, warmth, comfort, and renewed vitality. Massage offered at Thrive Retreat Center treats the individual as a whole, rather than just concentrating on physical conditions, and its movements are generally slower and more meditative. This kind of touch offers the perfect opportunity to completely surrender and let go of all tension while healing from the inside out.

Prices

$115 – 90 minute massage
$80 – 60 minute massage
$45 – 45 minute massage

About Your Practitioner: Angie Cherrette, LMP

Angie is a student to all and a teacher to many. At a very early age she developed an interest in health and healing as she overcame her own issues with illness and poor diet. That passion mixed with her love and dedication to others has led her to open herself up to learning various ways in which to connect and aid others in their own healing. Graduating from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Anthropology and Health Studies she was eager to learn more. She went on to obtain certifications as a Holistic Wellness Coach, Massage Therapist and Natural Chef. Now she has landed at Thrive Retreat Center where she is excited to be apart of such a beautiful vision and to share her many gifts with other.

Colon Hydrotherapy

One of the additional services we recommend during your stay is Colon hydrotherapy. A colonic is a safe, gentle and effective method of removing waste and toxins from the colon. By introducing filtered temperature regulated water into the colon, waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation via normal colon peristalsis.

Thrive Retreat Center uses and recommends a local therapist with years of experience in the retreat center environment. The colon therapy room is private, warm and relaxing. A typical session takes approximately one hour. During this time the colon is gently cleansed with all waste water going directly from the colon into disposable plumbing. Warm double filtered water enters the colon and exits in a gentle flow. At times there may be mild discomfort that can be likened to a bowel movement kind of feeling.

Colon Cleansing improves the function of all organs of the body resulting in more energy and increased vitality. This process enhances the release of accumulated toxins and improves the absorption of nutrients by enhancing improved colon functioning. Colonics can remove parasites, gas and cellular debris, and cleanses and rejuvenates that portion of the immune system that resides in the intestinal tract.

Due to demand, it is recommended that you inquire about and book any colonics once you know you will be staying with us. Please call or Contact Us for more information.

About Your Practitioner, Penelope Protheroe

With 35 years of experience teaching and applying spirituality Penelope offers unique ability to “tune into”, read, heal, and see the spiritual purpose/lesson behind energy. As we raise the vibration of our body through high vibrational “prana” foods and meditation, we often hit blocks of energy within us that feels painful, fearful, or just stuck. Penelope can see clairvoyantly if this energy is associated with a past-life, foreign energy, and even out-dated spiritual contracts. Penelope works from her Spirit along with angels to restore and balance the energy in your chakras and aura. When we raise our vibration we raise our consciousness and awaken to our unique Spirit within. Visit Penelope’s website here.
